The 2023 Thomasville High School Beauty Review Court includes Morgan Blackmon, Fourth Alternate; Chulynna Nguyen, First Alternate; Takira Sevin, Top THS Beauty; Marli Davis, Third Alternate; Alayna Witherspoon, Second Alternate; and Anna Smith, Miss Congeniality.


Morgan Blackmon and Kam Wright were chosen Feb. 4 as Mr. and Miss Thomisana during the 2023 Thomasville High School Beauty Review in the Thomasville Civic Center.


"Students of the Month" have been selected for January 2023 at Thomasville High School: Bella Shoemaker (10th Grade); Hannah Walker (12th Grade); and Ella Norris (Ninth Grade). Christi Nichols (11th Grade) was not present for the photo.

The THS Beauty Review 2023, "The Greatest Show," will be held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 3 and 4 in the Thomasville Civic Center. Admission is $10 for Feb. 3 and $15 for Feb. 4. Call 334-637-3384 for ticket information.


There will be early release of students on Wednesday, Feb. 8 in the Thomasville City Schools District: 12:15 p.m. at TES; 12:30 p.m. at TMS/THS. Buses will run regular routes.


Kimberlee Harrell, a kindergarten teacher at Thomasville Elementary School, has received a $3,500 Alabama Math, Science and Technology Initiative (AMSTI) Robotics Grant from the Alabama Department of Education.
This grant was written to help fulfill the requirements of the new Elementary Computer Science Standards that were created in compliance with Gov. Kay Ivey's Computer Science for Alabama (CS4AL) Initiative. CS4AL was designed to insure that all Alabama students have the opportunity to learn computer science. This $3,500 grant will be used to purchase 30 Bee-Bots and charging decks, six Command Card Decks, one Shape, Color, & Size Mat, & one Alphabet Mat (with Alphabet Cards). The Bee-Bots are designed to help students learn to code and will be used in Thomasville Elementary School's Kindergarten, First, and Second-grade classrooms.

There will be a THS Softball Booster Club meeting Thursday, Feb. 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the THS library. Topics of discussion with be the sponsorship signs, Jan Overstreet Tournament, and the concession stand. Please make plans to attend. GO TIGERS!

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Mathews Scholarship Fund – For a Clarke County student who has at least a B average and will be pursuing a career in education as a teacher. A teacher in Clarke County who is beginning work on a new degree may also apply for the scholarship. The Thomasville High School Tigers wrestling team will travel Feb. 4 for a match at T.R. Miller High School in Brewton. THS will compete with Miller, W.S. Neal, Houston Academy, Orange Beach and Escambia County. The event begins at 9 a.m.
Tickets will be sold at the door, and cash will be accepted.

The THS varsity boys basketball team lost 56-52 Jan. 31 at Clarke County in Grove Hill.
