Good Afternoon,
I want to take a few minutes and thank everyone for their cooperation this week as we resumed in person learning with all of our students. The school year is off to a great start at all three of our schools. All of our teachers, administrators, staff, child nutrition staff and bus drivers have all done a great job this week as we opened school and faced new challenges head on.
It has been great to see so many smiling faces as our students returned to campus. It has been over eighteen months since some of our students have been on campus and a lot of faces and procedures have changed during that time. We also welcomed 96 new kindergarten students to the Thomasville family this week.
We will continue to monitor the COVID numbers and adjust things as needed. I want to stress how important it is for you to keep your child at home if they are sick or showing any symptoms. You are our first line of defense in helping to protect others. We will continue to do everything we can to keep everyone as safe as possible.
I want to personally thank the Thomasville Police Department and Chief Stuckey for their help with traffic issues at our schools this week. They have really stepped up to help us keep everyone safe and to keep traffic flowing. I also want to thank Mayor Sheldon Day and the City of Thomasville for all they do to help our schools.
I have challenged all of our employees to come to work every day with a “Glad to be Here” mindset. We have the chance to be a positive influence every day in someone's life. Thank you for trusting your children to us!
Go Tigers!
