From Staff Reports
Renae Williams, a veteran of the Thomasville City Schools District, has been chosen as the new Assistant Principal of Thomasville Middle School.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to accept the role of Assistant Principal at Thomasville Middle School,” she said. “I want to express gratitude to the Thomasville City School Board and Superintendent, Mrs. Vickie Morris, for entrusting me with this remarkable opportunity.
“I have spent my entire career in the Thomasville School District. The first 16 years were spent teaching third grade at Thomasville Elementary School. In 2020, I transferred to Thomasville Middle School and taught 5th grade math for three years. This past year I accepted an assignment as District Technology Integration Specialist.
“With 19 years of classroom experience and a year serving on the technology team, I am thrilled to transition into this new role where I can continue to serve and support students, parents, teachers, staff, and our community,” Williams said.
“As an alumnus of Thomasville City Schools, Class of 1987, I am proud to give back to the community that has helped shape me. It has been a privilege to work in my hometown, and again I am humbled to be afforded this opportunity. Serving in the school system where I began my journey as a five-year-old fills me with immense pride. ‘Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!’
“I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 2004, a Master of Education Degree in 2006, and recently earned my Instructional Leadership Certification all from the University of West Alabama,” she said.
“My aim is to utilize the skills and knowledge I have acquired over the years, along with what I anticipate learning in leadership, to help guide our students toward continued academic growth and success. My goal is to provide unwavering support to our faculty and staff as we collectively strive for ongoing, continuous growth, within a safe environment. I am so excited for the opportunity to continue to work with the great staff and administration at Thomasville Middle School.
“Outside of my professional endeavors, I have been blessed with a fulfilling family life,” Williams said. “I have been happily married to Jimmy Williams for nearly 34 years. Together, we have four sons (three of which are TCS Alumni) and are blessed with seven grandchildren, each of whom are deeply embedded in our hearts. He and I both serve in many capacities at the Thomasville Church of God in Christ, where Dr. Jimmy Allen is Pastor.
“In my time away from work, I love spending time with my family, graphic designing, fishing, and watching sports. Roll Tide and Go Tigers! It is going to be a great year at TMS!”
