The Thomasville City Schools District received three competitive Alabama Robotics Program Grants totaling $10,500 from the Alabama State Department of Education.
The grants will be used in the computer science classrooms to provide hands-on learning tools to create learning environments that can enhance collaboration and communication among students, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, and creativity.
The elementary school funds will be used to purchase programmable robots. The middle school funds will be used to purchase robotics design, build and program kits. The high school funds will be used to purchase programable drones. Students will get to see their programming come to life through these robotics kits and learn how to solve real-world problems using computer coding.
