The ALSDE (Alabama State Department of Education) recently released the school system report cards for the 2023-2024 school year.

“I am thrilled to share that Thomasville City Schools scored an impressive 88/B,” said Vickie Morris, Thomasville City School Superintendent. “Notably, Thomasville High School made significant progress, improving to 82/B from a previous score of 79/C. Additionally, Thomasville Middle School held its own scoring 84/B, while Thomasville Elementary School also stayed the same at an 88/B.

“I am immensely proud of our students, teachers, staff, and administrators at Thomasville High School for their hard work and commitment to our goal of achieving an A. Their dedication truly deserves the highest praise, and I could not be prouder of their accomplishments.

“I am looking forward to seeing all three schools continue to shine in the future,” Morris said.

“Maintaining a strong report card score is a challenging endeavor, and achieving measurable improvement is even more so,” said Eddie Armstead Jr., principal of Thomasville High School. “We are proud to announce a significant achievement: THS has increased its score by three points, from 79 in the 2023-24 school year to 82 for the 2024-25 school year. This accomplishment reflects the outstanding dedication and hard work of our faculty, staff, and students.

“Our motto is that we ‘Expect Excellence.’ Our goal is to continue to work towards improving academic achievement at THS,” Armstead said.

I am proud to share that Thomasville Middle School maintained its excellent report card score of 84 this year," said Brad Elam, TMS Principal. "This achievement demonstrates the commitment and effort of our teachers, who consistently inspire and support our students to excel. Our teachers are dedicated to excellence, and the hard work of our students is reflected in their outstanding performance in the classroom.

“With the continued support of our parents and school community, I am confident that we will achieve even greater success in the future. Together, we will strive to reach our goal of becoming an A school while ensuring every student fulfills their potential.”

“I am extremely proud of how hard administration, teachers and staff at TES work together to help students be successful,” said Melisa Washington, TES Principal. “Although our score remained the same as the previous year, the administrators, teachers and students worked really hard.

“We hope to continue moving forward with great success. I know that we can achieve even more.

“We have a tremendous amount of support from the superintendent, parents, other administrators, and stakeholders,” Washington said. “Our goal is to achieve an ‘A.’ I know that it is possible with the amount of support and dedication of teachers. We are proud of everyone’s hard work. We are looking forward to the continuation of future success.”
